22nd September, Pembrey

Newport Harriers gained medal success in some of the younger age groups, then settled for middle order respectability in the other age groups as the rain fell down on Pembrey Country Park.

Anya Brady was our first athlete to make the podium, coming 2nd in the U11 Girls race, then she was joined by Nia Wakley and Teagan Werner for team silver.

Our U11 Boys took team silver. Harry Dawes, Morgan Sage and Freddie Roach put in sterling efforts to hand over in 4th place. Leo Stark then produced the fastest leg overall to advance Newport to 2nd place, for which he received individual gold.

U15 Girls were 5th (fast leg Lily Williams) as were U17 Women (fast leg Ellie Robinson). U15 Boys were 7th (fast leg Josh Jones), as were U15 Girls B team (Fast leg Lily Hart). In 8th place were U13 Girls (fast leg Ceri Griffiths) and U17 Men (fast leg Spencer Smith). In the first race of the day U11 Boys were 5th with Vaughn Hughes producing our fastest run.
