Welsh Inter Regional Championships Roundup

Our under 13 athletes

Yesterday Newport athletes well and truly showed how amazing they all are Harry Bradley won silver in high Jump. The 4x100m contained of 3 Newport athletes Joe Hall, Harry Bradley and Joe Berry who brought home a silver medal. The girls 4x100m consisted of all Newport athletes Addison Werner, Alyssa Fitzgerald, Ella Ham and Olivia Gillespie who also brought home a silver medal, long jump saw Harry Bradley take home the gold medal and become Welsh inter regional champion .

We also have another Welsh inter regional champion in the 1500m Henry Dawes and also with a championship record time. In the girls 1500m Any Garrod took home a silver medal with a new PB, Joe Berry took home silver medal in 100m with a new PB and in the 200m he is the Welsh inter regional champion with another PB .

In the girls sprints 100m and 200m Olivia Gillespie is double Welsh inter regional champion. In the afternoon saw Harry Bradley take on the 800m where he took home a bronze medal congratulations Harry medalling in every event.

A bit of field action from our girls saw Kirsten Seville take home bronze medal in the Javelin and in the final event of the day saw the 4x200m in the boys team we had 2 Newport athletes Joe Hall and Joe Berry in which they gained a bronze medal.

A massive congratulations to all our medalists and new champions you are all amazing and deserve the awards

Our under 15 medalists

Fantastic performances by all who got selected yesterday for the Welsh inter regionals

To start the day off we started in field with a new Welsh inter regional champion Alex Thomas

Bronze medal for Jack Payne in high Jump.

Also we have a new Welsh inter regional champion in the girls shot put with Amelia Fettis which she also achieved a bronze medal in the girls discus and we saw our Cate Davies take the title as welsh inter regional champion in the girls hammer. The first track event of the day was the 4x100m relay, the girls team consisted of 3 Newport athletes cate Davies , Libby Davidson and Twiahh Boateng which saw them come home with a silver medal. Back to the field we headed to the Javelin which we saw Morgan Keen Williams take home a bronze medal and Morgan also backed up another bronze medal In the discus. Back to the track to the sprints to see Twiaah Boateng take silver In the 100m and in the final event of the day was the 4x200m in the girls team we had 2 Newport athletes Olivia Reid and Millie Jenkins who secured themselves a bronze medal congratulations all you all deserve these fantastic medals, you’ve worked extremely hard.

Under 17 athletes

Christina Griffith Welsh Inter regional champion in 80m hurdles And bronze in 100m

Amy Jenkins with a seasons best in the high jump took silver.

Ama Boateng and Christina Griffith were part of the East Wales 4x100m which they secured a bronze medal

Theo Copestake took silver in the 400 metres and was a member of the 4 x 200 metre team.

Well done also to Michael Owen 800m bronze

The boys 4x100m and 4x200m Joshua Davies and Ashton Burnett got two bronze medals

Sam Breese competed in the hammer.
