Updated: May 17, 2018

Sunday 29th April 2018l Hereford

The upper age group athletes headed to Hereford for the first YDL league of the season with Blaenau Gwent and Rhymney Valley to make a strong Team Gwent. The team spirit was high and raring to go even with the awful conditions and it guaranteed us 3rd place overall at the end of the day.

There where many fantastic performances from all athletes on the track and field, many top finish performances which brought maximum points for the team. These came from Remi Adebiyi, Jackson Mountford, Dylan Howell, Dylan Bevan, Lowri Thomas and Tessa Morgan. We also had 1st place finishes in both the boys and girls 4x100m relay. These were a mixed relay team with Blaenau Gwent, to make the team the best it possibly could be. It included Newport Harriers athlete Dylan Howell and Ashton Burnett and in the girls team there was Jasmine Barraclough and Ama Boateng. There was also fantastic performances by Ashton Burnett, Finley Richards, Oscar Denton, Micheal Owen, Ama Boatang, Caitlin Jones and Jasmine Barraclough. Athlete of the match from the first YDL performance goes to Dylan Bevan, congratulations on your top performance it is definitely looking good for the rest of the season ahead.

Also a massive thank you to all officials, parents and team managers especially Claire Barraclough who covered team manager for the first YDL match due to Darryn's other commitments.

The team is looking strong for the next YDL match on the 27th May.
