SIAB International

Saturday 21st July 2018

Three Newport Harriers were selected for the SIAB international held in Grangemouth, Scotland this year. David Locke ran well in the 800 metres slicing 1.38 seconds off his personal best and narrowly failing to get a medal, despite a lunge for the finish line that left him lying on the track covered in grazed and bruises. He recovered well enough to play his part in the 400 metre relay later in the day. Dylan Bevan was 7th in the shot and Amy Jenkins 8th in the high jump, both athletes would have needed big personal bests to medal, but they will benefit immensely from the experience.
