Masters Inter Area Regional Championships

Updated: Mar 15, 2018

Sunday th March 2018, Lee Valley

Whilst a number of Newport Harriers had been selected to represent Wales at this event a number of them missed out due to being snowed in those that did make it performed extremely well

At W50 Louise Kirby, who was making her Welsh Masters debut, smashed her previous PB running a time of 71.52s in collecting another 4 points, beaten only by two GB internationals. This time is also a new club championship record. Louise also ran the 200m in a good time of 31.95 showing she has good form with minimal training at this point in the season. As if this wasn't enough she was also part of the 4 x 200m relay winning team. A good day at the office!

Ian Williams also braved the elements coming 3rd in the shot with a throw of 9.35 bagged a new pb, awesome.

Keith Powell was in good from with a jump of 4.35m coming 5th

Last but by no means least the ever inspiring Glyn Sutton won his 200m race in 29.96 and also his 60m in 8.5. He tells me he was nursing himself through the races following a nasty virus.

Well done all who made the effort to get their and represent Wales :)
