First YDL U13 & U15 of the Season

Updated: May 14, 2019

5 May, Braunton

The start of the season under 13 and under 15 athletes made their journey to Braunton to tackle the first YDL of the season, they also tackled very difficult weather conditions which saw the pole vault to be cancelled, the athletes still battled through to secure a very positive strong third position overall.

At the start of the track we had a great head to head in the 70m hurdles between Darcey Simmons and Addison Werner where they battled to get 1st and 2nd and bring the Harriers to a great start on points. We added to this further where Jack Payne and Morgan Keen Williams had another good battle in 75m hurdles.

An outstanding win for Olivia Gillespie in the 75m with many more securing valuable points for the team, Alyssa Fitzgerald stepping in last minute to secure a win in the 150m and also picking up extra points in the shot put.

In the field we had outstanding personal bests from Libby Davidson in high Jump, Jacob Powell In javelin and Morgan Keen Williams In javelin.

The team was outstanding with their attitude and persistence in securing valuable points for the club to get us on the road for promotion, the following YDL is fast approaching Saturday 18th May in Swindon where we take a bigger team to hopefully secure a positive position in the league
