England Athletics U15/U17 Championships

25th-26th August, Bedford

England Championships draw the best young athletes from around Britain, and just to enter you must have achieved a high standard of performance. Newport Harriers' two athletes in this year's competition were David Locke and Antonia Dawes.

David Locke competed in U17M 800m. There were 27 athletes spread over 3 heats and David looked very assured qualifying in 2nd place in heat 3. David finished 5th in the final, won by age group world record holder Max Burgin. David's current UK ranking is 12th.

Antonia Dawes competed in 300m. A troublesome ankle meant she could not apply maximum force as she went out in the heat, but nonetheless benefitted from the experience of competing at this level. Antonia's current UK ranking is 37th.
