Welsh Junior League - U11s Report

U11 Girls and Boys


Lower age groups arrived in Hereford on hot and sunny Saturday morning in high spirits, bringing with them parents and grandparents.


We had a sterling team of field officials who officiated on the Pole Vault, Discus and Long Jump

The Newport Team came home in a strong overall 3rd position.

U11s many who have never competed before started with the long jump with great performances from Ella Ham, Maisie Davies and Connie Bradley.

Boys Long Jump Jorge Bishop and Charlie Ferris put in great performances with new pbs.

In the sprints there were some great running with new pbs for Ella Ham, Darcy Simmonds, Maisie Davies and Connie Bradley and new pbs for the boys Codie Alfred, Chase Alfed, Joseph Kulisa and Henry Roach. Chase came home in overall 1st position in the 75m and brother Codie overall 2nd in the 150m.


800ms Anya Brady came 1st with a new pb of 2.54.52 and Ava Stratford Davies and Connie Bradley also had new pbs.

For the boys 800m Dylan Evans ran under 3mins for the first time in a time of 2.58.59. There were pbs for Sam Davison, Josh Seal and Henry Roach.

Jorge Bishop and Codie Alfred had new pbs in the shot putt coming in 2nd and 3rd positions.

Jorge also came 2nd in the javelin with a new pb of 16.92. Henry Roach also had a pb in the same event.

Girls shot Anya Brady managed to get 1 throw in before running off to the 800m gaining vital points for the club and Ava Stratford Davies was the only girl in the javelin for Newport.

Relays the Under 11 Boys, Riley Fussell, Josh Seal, Codie and Chase Alfred had a storming relay coming home in 1st position in time of 61.46.

The girls, Ella Ham, Maisie Davies, Ava Stratford-Davies and Darcy Simmonds also had a great race and came home in 3rd place in time of 65.72.


Overall Under 11s had a great day and with the good weather I think it was a very positive experience for our new young athletes.
