Betws-y-Coed Trail Challenge

Saturday 10th November 2018

Cariad Ann Roberts is Newport Harriers’ new Senior Women’s trail runner. Based in North Wales, today she competed in the Betws-y-Coed Trail Challenge in a time of 1:04:01.

Cariad: “It was a good race, a bit frustrating at the start because so many people walk the uphill so I had to weave all over the place for the first k. It was narrow in places as well so difficult to pass, I got stuck behind a man from Penny Lane Striders for a while who kept on walking the ups and technicals.

I really enjoy this course, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys trail running, there were people from all over the place there, I was following a man from a Chepstow running club for a while.”
