ABP Newport Marathon 2018.

Sunday 29th April saw the start of the inaugural 2018 ABP Newport Wales Marathon. Starting and finishing on Newport’s vibrant riverfront, – the route offered iconic landmarks, coastal wildlife, picturesque medieval villages and a high-profile opportunity for locals and visitors alike to experience the recently regenerated city-centre.


Newport Harriers was represented by Gareth Knight in the Marathon, who ran a time of 3:48 on his debut, as well as raising a massive £505 for Cancer Research UK! Gareth said “I absolutely loved running the Marathon, something that I have wanted to do for a long time. I hit the wall at mile 22 but was determined to finish. The support from the crowds was amazing and I have already registered for next years event”.
